Disneyland Resort Update for October 19, 2026

ABC Holiday Specials taping this weekend

Permits filed with the city of Anaheim indicate that ABC will tape the Disneyland portions of their annual holiday specials this weekend, sometime between October 23 – 26. In preparation for the filming, Disney has already capped Sleeping Beauty Castle with snow, which leads to our favorite “when two holidays collide” moment each year.

Most of the taping will likely take place after park hours, but if you’re visiting this weekend keep an eye open for celebrity sightings. Where filming takes place during park hours, the surrounding area is usually blocked off from the general public.

Leather Treaty Shop in Frontierland closed

Last month a reader mentioned that the stamped-leather bracelets from Frontierland were on sale, and now we know why. Disneyland had ended the program, closing the Leather Treaty shop. These hand-tooled accessories were unique affordable souvenirs, but were apparently not popular enough to justify their storefront space. The kiosk now stocks a new collection of character keychains and accessories.

Anaheim Resort Campus Shuttle adds two more hotels

It’s been six months since the Anaheim Resort Transit (ART) system shut town, and still no single operator has stepped up to replace the sprawling transportation network that ferried visitors to and from dozens of Disneyland Resort area hotels. The Anaheim Resort Campus shuttle system popped up initially to provide service to and from four hotels around the Anaheim Convention Center, later adding one ore. The service has grown again, has now added two more hotels to its route.

Anaheim Resort Campus shuttle has added Hotel Lulu and DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Anaheim Resort, in addition to the Hilton Anaheim, Anaheim Marriott, Clarion Hotel Anaheim Resort, Sheraton Park Hotel at the Anaheim Resort and the Courtyard by Marriott Anaheim Resort / Convention Center.

A one-day pass is $6 for ages 11 and older, and $3.50 for ages 3 to 10. Seniors age 65 and older ride for $4, and toddlers age 2 and under ride for free with a paying adult. 3-day passes are available at a small discount. All fares are subject to an additional processing fee when purchased online.

10 Garden Grove hotels also launched their own shuttle service following the ART shutdown, and other hotels run their own individual shuttles or have paired up with a neighbor to operated joint shuttles.

If the transportation uncertainty has you reconsidering your hotel choice for your next, let our travel partners at Get Away Today help you find a hotel that offers shuttle service. They can can also point you to a property where you may receive exclusive benefits like free or reduced parking, complimentary breakfast and/or free hotel nights:

2026 Candy Cane dates and distribution details

The original “viral” Disneyland treat is coming back on select days starting November 27 and we have the the details you need for 2026. If you’re a Magic Key holder, you especially want to make reservations to get yours before the holiday blockouts begin.

Prior to the pandemic, the fresh candy canes were offered on as many as 28 days between Thanksgiving and Christmas. This year you have 18 opportunities to get your hands on one of the coveted gems, with two days where the candy canes will be released at both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.

The official dates for 2026 are:

• Disneyland Candy Palace – Nov. 27, 30; Dec. 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 22, 24 and 25.
• Disney California Adventure Trolley Treats – Nov. 28, 29; Dec. 1, 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22, and 24.

You can get all of the details and distribution information right here on MousePlanet.

New Magic Key perks

Disneyland will commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Haunted Mansion Holiday with a new giveaway for Magic Key holders. Starting Monday, October 26, Magic Key holders can pick up a new lenticular card featuring one of the portraits from the ride. The first week’s card comes with a frame for the collection.

Disney made a welcome change with this distribution, in that the promotional items are available at the WonderGround Gallery in Downtown Disney for those passholders who are blocked out on a release date, or are otherwise unable to get a park reservation. They are also available at the Disneyana Shop in Disneyland and at Kingswell Camera in Disney California Adventure.

A new card is available each Monday through November 16, while supplies last. There is a limit of one frame and one of each card per Magic Key holder.

Magic Key holders can also save up to 40% off select Halloween merchandise at participating Disneyland stores, including the World of Disney in Downtown Disney. See in-store signage for details.

Still looking for that Costco deal?

Costco’s new Disneyland ticket offer has been very popular. Some readers have reported difficulty finding the passes at their local warehouse, but others note that their stores have received additional ticket allocations.

As of press time, the two closest Costco warehouses with inventory near Disneyland were Fullerton, (about 4 miles north of the park) and La Habra, (about 13 miles to the north). You can use the Costco app to search your local area. Be sure to tap the Warehouse icon, and search for item number 2113717.

Once you find a store still selling the tickets, grab them while you can. Then, be sure to make your theme park reservations as soon as possible. You can read all of the terms and conditions about this new offer here on MousePlanet.

…Indiana Jones Adventure is scheduled to reopen this Friday, October 23 following a lengthy refurbishment.

2027

• Super Bowl LXI Champions Cavalcade at Disneyland – Monday, February 15. The winners of Super Bowl LXI will appear in a cavalcade down Main Street, U.S.A. Magic Key holders can make theme park reservations for that date starting Monday November 16, 2026.

We also recommend checking the convention calendar at the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau website. When looking at that site, remember to note both the number of people and the number of rooms resulting from each convention. A gathering of 25,000 people booking few room nights (indicating most will be driving in to the area for their meeting) can impact traffic around the resort much more than a crowd of 25,000 staying in area hotels. Of course, that second group is going to make finding a hotel room more difficult (and possibly more expensive), so it’s best to book your own room as early as possible if you see that a big convention is in town during your trip.

Tickets, Discounts and Promotions

Disneyland prices as of October 6, 2026.

Note: MousePlanet does not edit past Updates to reflect price increases; for up-to-date prices, check the most recent Disneyland Resort Update. Several current promotions offer discounted admission to the Disneyland Resort. For your convenience, we have grouped the discount offers based on the number of days the tickets are valid. Check out the category that best matches the amount of time you plan to spend at the resort, and pick the offer that works best for you. And keep those tips coming—let us know if you find a better or different offer, so we can share it with other readers!

This first section is a list of discounts on ticket-only purchases. Though it has become more common in recent years, Disneyland tickets are rarely offered at deep discounts unless you are a resident of Southern California or Northern Mexico. For residents outside that area, the best discounts available tend to be simple advance purchase discounts. If you know of any additional discounts, offers, promotions, or contests that should be listed in this section, drop us a line. Note, we are no longer listing offers from the Anaheim-Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau, as their convenience fee negates any savings.

Don’t get scammed! Never buy tickets from an unofficial or secondary outlet, such as through eBay or Craigslist. Never rent or purchase tickets from people approaching you outside the gates stating they have remaining days or leftover tickets. This practice is against the terms of use for Disneyland admission, and may result in denial of entry. It is also common for criminals to shoplift inactivated Disney theme park tickets from supermarkets to resell them. There is no way to determine if these tickets are valid until you try to use them to enter the parks. Only purchase Disney theme park tickets directly from Disney, an authorized seller, or travel agency like MousePlanet travel partner Get Away Today.

One Day Tickets

• Lightning Lane Multi Pass Add-On – $34 per day, per ticket when purchased in advance. Demand-based pricing applies to same-day purchases, starting at $34 per ticket.
• Lightning Lane Premier Pass Add-On – Starting at $399 per day, per ticket

Check the Disneyland website to see what type of ticket you need for the day you plan to visit. Seasonal pricing applies only to one-day tickets.

Book now here at Get Away Today or call 1-855-GET-AWAY, and be sure to mention you saw them on MousePlanet.

D23 Gold Member Discount

D23 Gold Members can save 5% off the gate price when they purchase one of these ticket options using a new exclusive offer available on the D23 website:

• Standard Theme Park Ticket, One Day Park Hopper Ticket
• Standard Theme Park Ticket, Multi-Day Park Hopper Ticket
• Standard Theme Park Ticket, Multi-Day One Park Per Day Ticket

Gold members can also get 5% off the Lightning Lane add-on for any Disneyland tickets purchased through this offer.

The offer expires December 30, 2026. One-day tickets must be used by December 31, 2026. Multi-day tickets must be used within 13 days of first use or by January 12, 2027, whichever occurs first. Theme park reservations are required.

We should note that, as with most discounts, this offer may be canceled or changed at any time. If you’re looking to take advantage of this offer, it’s probably a good idea to purchase tickets as soon as your travel plans are confirmed, and definitely before the expected ticket price increase in October.

Note: this offer is valid only for D23 Gold Members. D23 General Members are not eligible. Visit the D23 website for a list of other discounts available to D23 Gold and General members at the Disneyland Resort.
