It’s a good week to plan your next Disneyland visit

It’s another slow Disney news week, as is typical this time of year. What is also typical this time of year is the waiting for the annual price hike to take effect. Prior to the pandemic these increases usually came in February, but post-pandemic history shows the second week of October is the new target.

Disneyland last raised ticket prices on October 8, 2025. In 2024 the increase came on October 9; in 2023 and 2022 it was on October 11. It’s been several years since Disney has given us official advance notice of a price increase, but if recent history holds then October 7, 2026 looks likely for the next round of price increases.

What this means is that now is a really good time to plan your next Disneyland visit, and get your tickets sorted if possible. Every year we see vacation planners scramble in the days after a price hike to find tickets at the old prices. Magic Happens floats return to Disneyland

Disneyland previously announced that the Magic Happens parade will once again travel down Main Street, U.S.A., and last week the resort shared a behind-the-scenes video of the floats returning to the Anaheim theme park. We presume the Paint the Night parade floats were moved offsite to storage to make room for the Magic Happens units in the backstage float barn. Disney says Magic Happens returns in summer 2027, but no more specific date has been announced.

Tickets still available to D23 Oogie Boogie Bash

This coming Sunday, September 27 is the D23 member-exclusive Oogie Boogie Bash event, and tickets are inexplicably still on sale. We’re not sure why this lone Sunday night event hasn’t sold out when the rest of the remaining 2026 events have, but here we are.

If you’re not already a D23 member you can quickly join the club, and then purchase tickets for the members-only bash. Tickets are $169 per person, and are available on the event website.

• Chiller at Paradise Gardens Park – closes for refurbishment July 26. No reopening date published. This outdoor vending cart is located near Silly Symphony Swings, and serves a variety of items, including frozen slushies. The closure is likely due to the adjacent construction site for the new Coco attraction.

Downtown Disney District & Resort Hotels

Downtown Disney:

• Jamba (formerly Jamba Juice) – Closed as of July 5. Will be replaced by Bopo Go cafe.
• Former ESPN Zone building – permits call for splitting the building into three units, with two ground-level retail spaces. The first of these, Lululemon, is now open.

Grand Californian Hotel

• A new two-story club lounge is planned for the Grand Californian Hotel, and will be constructed on the 5th and 6th floors overlooking the grand lobby.
• Guest room renovations will take place in phases through the fall.

Disneyland Hotel

• Steakhouse 55 – permanently closed. The lobby bar has reopened as the Broken Spell Lounge.

Pixar Place Hotel

• Crush’s Surfin’ Slide and splash pad – closed for refurbishment Sep 8 – 25, 2026 .

• Super Bowl LXI Champions Cavalcade at Disneyland – Monday, February 15. The winners of Super Bowl LXI will appear in a cavalcade down Main Street, U.S.A. Magic Key holders can make theme park reservations for that date starting Monday November 16, 2026.

We also recommend checking the convention calendar at the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau website. When looking at that site, remember to note both the number of people and the number of rooms resulting from each convention. A gathering of 25,000 people booking few room nights (indicating most will be driving in to the area for their meeting) can impact traffic around the resort much more than a crowd of 25,000 staying in area hotels. Of course, that second group is going to make finding a hotel room more difficult (and possibly more expensive), so it’s best to book your own room as early as possible if you see that a big convention is in town during your trip.

Tickets, Discounts and Promotions

This first section is a list of discounts on ticket-only purchases. Though it has become more common in recent years, Disneyland tickets are rarely offered at deep discounts unless you are a resident of Southern California or Northern Mexico. For residents outside that area, the best discounts available tend to be simple advance purchase discounts. If you know of any additional discounts, offers, promotions, or contests that should be listed in this section, drop us a line. Note, we are no longer listing offers from the Anaheim-Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau, as their convenience fee negates any savings.

Don’t get scammed! Never buy tickets from an unofficial or secondary outlet, such as through eBay or Craigslist. Never rent or purchase tickets from people approaching you outside the gates stating they have remaining days or leftover tickets. This practice is against the terms of use for Disneyland admission, and may result in denial of entry. It is also common for criminals to shoplift inactivated Disney theme park tickets from supermarkets to resell them. There is no way to determine if these tickets are valid until you try to use them to enter the parks. Only purchase Disney theme park tickets directly from Disney, an authorized seller, or travel agency like MousePlanet travel partner Get Away Today.

Anaheim Resident Ticket Offer

Anaheim residents can visit Disneyland during the final weeks of the “Celebrate Happy” promotion or the first weeks of Halloween Time for as little as $71 with an offer released in honor of Disneyland’s 71st anniversary.

The Anaheim Resident Ticket Offer is on sale now, and is valid for visits from July 20 through October 8, 2026. The one-day, one-park ticket offers admission to either Disneyland or Disney California Adventure for just $71 per person, ages 3 and older. You can upgrade this ticket to a one-day park-hopper ticket for $33 more, and also add Lightning Lane Multi Pass for an additional fee.

The catch is that you need to be a resident of the city of Anaheim to take advantage of this offer. Tickets may be purchased online starting July 16. Your payment method must have an Anaheim address in zip codes 92801 through 92809, 92812, 92814 through 92817, 92825, 92850 and 92899.

We also want to note that the terms and conditions state, “Sales may be paused or terminated at any time.” In 2024, Disney ended sales of the Anaheim resident ticket two weeks prior to the official end of the promotion, so we recommend purchasing the tickets as early as you can to avoid disappointment.

Eligible residents can purchase up to eight (8) tickets per person, per day, but each person who uses a ticket must show proof of residency in an eligible zip code. An Anaheim resident is not permitted to purchase tickets on behalf of others who are not Anaheim residents. This means everyone in your party (18 and older) should come prepared to show proof of residency in the eligible ZIP codes to use this promotional offer.

2026 Military Hotel discounts

If you’re making travel plans for 2026, it’s worth calling the number above to see if there are any special military offers available during your stay.

The offer is available to eligible service members, (active or retired members of the US military, including the National Guard, Reservists, the US Coast Guard, the US Space Force, the Commissioned Corps of the Public Health Service (PHS) and the Commissioned Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) ), and their spouses with proper military ID.
