Last chance to see: Celebrate Happy! edition
Disneyland’s 70th anniversary celebration ends next Sunday, August 9, making this the last week for Disneyland visitors to enjoy some of the offerings from the celebration. As we shared last week, the music box which stood between the entrances to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure has already been removed, and decorations will continue to come down around the Resort as Halloween Time begin.
The final performance of the Celebrate Happy Cavalcade is scheduled for 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, August 9. There will not be a daytime parade or cavalcade at either park until August 21, when the Mickey and Friends Halloween Cavalcade returns to Disneyland.
As we’ve shared over the past weeks and months, Disneyland has discounted much of the remaining 70th anniversary merchandise. We don’t know if the company plans to pull all of the product from the shelves on August 10, but it’s a good idea to grab any last-minute souvenirs if you see them in the park this week. This is also your last chance to complete the Key to Disneyland activity inside the parks.
August 9 is also the last chance for catch “World of Color Happiness” at Disney California Adventure. The show was introduced in 2025 as part of the 70th celebration. “World of Color – ONE” will return starting August 10, but be sure to check the daily entertainment schedule for the date you plan to visit. World of Color is not presented on August 13 due to the Disney Princess concert at DCA that evening, and does not run on nights when Disney California Adventure hosts Oogie Boogie Bash.
It also appears that World of Color is on a brief hiatus August 23 – 30. On nights when World of Color is showing, you can book the dessert party or dining package.
The good news is that some of the 70th anniversary celebration entertainment continues on beyond August 9. Tapestry of Happiness, a projection show which uses the facade of “it’s a small world” as a screen, is on the entertainment schedule at least through September 11, which is as far as the schedule had been released at the time of publication.
Both the Paint the Night parade and the Wondrous Journeys projection show and fireworks are scheduled through August 20, 2026. It does not appear there will be a nighttime parade after Paint the Night ends until A Christmas Fantasy Parade returns November 13, but the Halloween Screams fireworks are on the schedule starting August 21 for the duration of Halloween Time.
We also want to note that Walt Disney – A Magical Life will remain in rotation with Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln at the Main Street Opera House. The show was introduced as part of the 70th anniversary celebration, but is a permanent addition.
We do not know what will happen in The Main Street Cinema, which is currently running a short film dedicated to The Sherman Brothers called “The Last Verse.” The cinema is closed for refurbishment starting August 10, and Disney has not yet said what will be showing when it reopens at the end of the month.
Refurbishment notes
We shared last week that the Disneyland Resort’s only in-park character meal is going on a temporary hiatus next month, but the dates have no changed. Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park at the Plaza Inn inside Disneyland will be closed starting August 17, instead of August 10 as previously scheduled.
The good news is that pushing back the start of the hiatus opened up a whole week of additional reservations, and right now there is availability every day from August 9 through 16. The bad news is that the character meal will no longer return September 22 as previously scheduled. At press time, there is no reopening date listed.
It still does not appear that the Plaza Inn will close entirely during this period. The restaurant is currently scheduled to be open from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. each day.
Disney has also still not indicated whether there will be a dining package offered for the Halloween Screams fireworks or the Christmas Fantasy Parade when they return later this year.
New on the refurbishment list, Indiana Jones Adventure is scheduled to close September 8. Reopening date is not published.
There are quite a few schedule changes on the Rivers of America. The Mark Twain Riverboat is now scheduled to close September 8, and the reopening date is not published.
The Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes are closed Monday – Thursday for the first three weeks of August, which is not unheard of during slower periods. Likewise, the Sailing Ship Columbia will be closed Monday through Friday the same weeks.
Oogie Boogie Bash sales pick up slightly

- A new two-story club lounge is planned for the Grand Californian Hotel, and will be constructed on the 5th and 6th floors overlooking the grand lobby.

We also recommend checking the convention calendar at the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau website. When looking at that site, remember to note both the number of people and the number of rooms resulting from each convention. A gathering of 25,000 people booking few room nights (indicating most will be driving in to the area for their meeting) can impact traffic around the resort much more than a crowd of 25,000 staying in area hotels. Of course, that second group is going to make finding a hotel room more difficult (and possibly more expensive), so it’s best to book your own room as early as possible if you see that a big convention is in town during your trip.

This first section is a list of discounts on ticket-only purchases. Though it has become more common in recent years, Disneyland tickets are rarely offered at deep discounts unless you are a resident of Southern California or Northern Mexico. For residents outside that area, the best discounts available tend to be simple advance purchase discounts. If you know of any additional discounts, offers, promotions, or contests that should be listed in this section, drop us a line. Note, we are no longer listing offers from the Anaheim-Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau, as their convenience fee negates any savings.
Don’t get scammed! Never buy tickets from an unofficial or secondary outlet, such as through eBay or Craigslist. Never rent or purchase tickets from people approaching you outside the gates stating they have remaining days or leftover tickets. This practice is against the terms of use for Disneyland admission, and may result in denial of entry. It is also common for criminals to shoplift inactivated Disney theme park tickets from supermarkets to resell them. There is no way to determine if these tickets are valid until you try to use them to enter the parks. Kids’ Summer Ticket Offer
Children ages 3 to 9 visit can Disneyland and Disney California Adventure for as low as $50 per day between May 22 and September 7, 2026. Disney also has 2-day and 3-day version of this ticket, as well as the option to add Lightning Lane Multi Pass. Pricing is as follows:

Tickets are on sale now. You must make theme park reservation to use this ticket, and will be prompted to select your dates at the time of purchase. You can make reservations up to 240 days in advance. Fortunately, Disneyland has just released their full 2026 Event and Festival calendar so you can be ready to make reservations for the events you want to attend.
You can change your dates later, but Disney will set aside only a limited number of reservations for this ticket type each day and so you may not be able to get the dates you want later. As with the prior offer, the terms state, “reservation availability for Kids’ Special Offer Ticket holders is not guaranteed for any date, and reservations may be difficult to get for any particular date, especially as the ticket expiration date approaches.”
Anaheim Resident Ticket Offer
Anaheim residents can visit Disneyland during the final weeks of the “Celebrate Happy” promotion or the first weeks of Halloween Time for as little as $71 with an offer released in honor of Disneyland’s 71st anniversary.
The Anaheim Resident Ticket Offer is on sale now, and is valid for visits from July 20 through October 8, 2026. The one-day, one-park ticket offers admission to either Disneyland or Disney California Adventure for just $71 per person, ages 3 and older. You can upgrade this ticket to a one-day park-hopper ticket for $33 more, and also add Lightning Lane Multi Pass for an additional fee.
The catch is that you need to be a resident of the city of Anaheim to take advantage of this offer. Tickets may be purchased online starting July 16. Your payment method must have an Anaheim address in zip codes 92801 through 92809, 92812, 92814 through 92817, 92825, 92850 and 92899.
We also want to note that the terms and conditions state, “Sales may be paused or terminated at any time.” In 2024, Disney ended sales of the Anaheim resident ticket two weeks prior to the official end of the promotion, so we recommend purchasing the tickets as early as you can to avoid disappointment.
Eligible residents can purchase up to eight (8) tickets per person, per day, but each person who uses a ticket must show proof of residency in an eligible zip code. An Anaheim resident is not permitted to purchase tickets on behalf of others who are not Anaheim residents. This means everyone in your party (18 and older) should come prepared to show proof of residency in the eligible ZIP codes to use this promotional offer.
2026-2027 1-day Military Ticket offer
This new ticket offers eligible service members and their families Tier 0 pricing on one-day tickets any day of the year through the end of 2027. At current pricing, this offer represents a savings of to $120 off a Tier 6 day.

The ticket is valid for admission January 8 through June 12, 2026. This ticket has a 13-day “fuse,” which means you must use the second admission date within 13 days of your first visit, (or on June 12, 2026, whichever occurs first). Theme park reservations are required for each admission.

The new hotel discount is valid for all of 2026, January 1 through December 31, 2026, and must be booked by December 27, 2026.
As has been the case for the past several years Disney did not publish the actual discounted rates, and instead directed eligible U.S. military personnel to call (866) 309-9737 to check pricing, availability and to make reservations. If you’re making travel plans for 2026, it’s worth calling the number above to see if there are any special military offers available during your stay.
The offer is available to eligible service members, (active or retired members of the US military, including the National Guard, Reservists, the US Coast Guard, the US Space Force, the Commissioned Corps of the Public Health Service (PHS) and the Commissioned Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) ), and their spouses with proper military ID.
Those who qualify can book up to two rooms under this offer, and eligible service member or spouse must stay in the room on the reservation.

Disney’s Resort Magic and Good Neighbor Magic Packages – these package includes accommodations in one of the three resort hotels or at one of 40 Good Neighbor hotels, along with theme park admission. The packages also come with a variety of extra inclusions and bonuses, usually a souvenir pin and lanyard, and discount coupons for various Downtown Disney merchants.
