D23 Day at Disneyland
Disneyland last week released the schedule and details for the upcoming D23 Day at Disneyland. Between arriving at park opening to grab a free ear hat and closing out the night with a free concert, it looks like fans won’t be getting much rest before the big three-day convention begins.
D23 Day at Disneyland is scheduled for Thursday, August 13, the day before the 2026 D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event begins on August 14. As with the last event in 2024, this D23 Day at Disneyland will feature a free gift for the first guests into the park, commemorative merchandise, a cavalcade of Disney Legends, and special photo opportunities.
One big addition to the 2026 D23 Day at Disneyland is a live performance of “Disney Princess: The Ultimate Concert Celebration” at Disney California Adventure. The concert will be streamed on Disney+, and will be broadcast on Disney Channel, Freeform, and The Wonderful World of Disney on ABC on Sunday, Aug. 16. Park guests can enter into a virtual queue for the opportunity to attend one of the two performances. New vacation financing options
Vacation rental website HometoGo recently released their 2026 Theme Park Index, ranking the affordability of 40 theme parks across the United States based on the price of admission, parking and vacation rental properties. If you’ve recently planned a Disneyland vacation, you won’t be surprised that Disneyland and Disney California Adventure tied for last place on the survey, . (The Walt Disney World resort did not fare much better, coming in 34, 35, 37 and 38 in the list.)
Though Disneyland has offered a number of special offers on park admission this past year, the fact remains that a Disneyland vacation is not a cheap prospect.
The company already offers California residents the opportunity to spread the cost of their annual Magic Key purchase using monthly payments, and recently has begun promoting “pay over time” and “Pay Later” options when you purchase tickets through their website. In fact, a page of the Disneyland website is devoted to various financing options.
Notable are two installment plans offered by PayPal. Customers who use PayPal at checkout can opt to split their total into four biweekly payments, or can apply to make monthly payments.
The Pay in 4 option is available for purchase up to $2000, and requires a 25% down payment at the time of purchase. The remaining balance is automatically charged in three biweekly payments. PayPal says a “soft credit check may be needed” when you apply for this payment option, but will not impact your credit score.
The Pay Monthly option is available for purchases up to $10,000, and requires a credit application. The terms of the loan depend on the purchase amount and your credit score, and are disclosed during the application process. PayPal advertises terms can be “As low as 0% APR for up to 6 months. No down payment, no late fees.”
Another option is to take advantage of terms offered to Disney Visa cardholders. There are some on-site perks for having a Disney Visa card, so this may make more sense for some buyers.
It’s also worth checking with your travel provider to see what payment options are available. The Disneyland Resort offers payment plans for some packages booked directly through the Walt Disney Travel Company. Food and snack prices increases at the Disneyland Resort
Park tickets and hotel rooms are just one factor in a Disney vacation, and dining can add hundreds of dollars per day to your trip. Our friends at Mickey Visit reported last week that Disneyland just raised prices on hundreds of food and drinks across the Resort, with some pricing jumping by as much as 23%.
According to their report, popular snacks like popcorn and churros increased by 50 cents, while fan-favorite beignets went up $1 for a three-pack. Entrees also rose in price by 5-10%
Halloween Dining reservations open
Reservations are now open for two extremely popular Halloween Time character dining offerings at the Disneyland Resort hotels.
First up is the return of Clarabelle’s Enchanted Halloween Dinner at Storyteller’s Cafe. This debuted in 2025, and we’re glad to see it back. The meal is offered August 21 through October 31, 2026.
Pricing is currently listed as $69 per adult, $39 per child ages 3-9. Tax and gratuity are not included.
You can also book this meal as part of a World of Color dining package, which includes preferred viewing for World of Color in Paradise Gardens Park. When booked as the World of Color package, pricing is currently listed as $79 per adult, $49 per child ages 3-9. Tax and gratuity are not included.
You can add the World of Color package when you make reservations online.
Diners who visit Storyteller’s Cafe during breakfast and brunch from August 21 through October 31, 2026 will experience Mickey’s Autumn Adventures.
Goofy’s Kitchen Celebrates Halloween returns to the Disneyland Hotel August 21 through October 31, 2026.
Pricing is currently listed as $69 per adult, $39 per child ages 3-9. Tax and gratuity are not included. Reservations are now available online.
Anaheim resident offer continues
The latest Anaheim Resident Ticket Offer is on sale now, and at press time all dates were still available. The one-day, one-park ticket offers admission to either Disneyland or Disney California Adventure for just $71 per person, ages 3 and older, for visits from July 20 through October 8, 2026. You can upgrade this ticket to a one-day park-hopper ticket for $33 more, and also add Lightning Lane Multi Pass for an additional fee. The catch is that you need to be a resident of the city of Anaheim to take advantage of this offer. You can find all details, including residency requirements, at this link.
Royalty presides over the Earl of Sandwich ribbon cutting
The Earl of Sandwich location in Downtown Disney is now officially open, following a grand opening ceremony last Wednesday. The ribbon cutting ceremony featured the Honorable Luke Montagu, the 12th Earl of Sandwich, along with Earl of Sandwich founder Robert Earl.
In remarks to the gathered crowd, Robert Earl referenced the transient nature of the restaurant’s history in Anaheim, saying, “We have been around Downtown Disney for fourteen years. We have had five different homes. And here we are now, I don’t know, a mere $15M – $20M later, including the upstairs, ready to open our permanent, permanent structure.” Of course, the “upstairs” is Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby, a second new restaurant also operated under the Earl of Sandwich umbrella.
In his own remarks, Lord Sandwich touched on being a family-operated business, noting that his father and brother had cofounded the restaurant with Robert Earl. He made sure to give a shout out to his daughter, who was celebrating her birthday, and joked that his “adult” children were eager to meet Mickey Mouse.
Once the doors were open, staff welcomed patrons into the restaurant, giving a first official look at the new location. This Earl of Sandwich features the classic breakfast and lunch menu fans will remember, but with two major additions. At the new Carvery counter, workers slice pastrami for sandwiches. The tiny Pub counter offers a selection of beer, wine and frozen cocktails.
Another highlight of the new menu is an assortment of fresh-baked oversize cookies, which Robert Earl described as “amazing, decadent but healthy.” As the crowd laughed, Earl admitted, “the healthy part is marginal.”
The new Downtown Disney location is currently open 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily. Mobile order is not offered through the Disneyland website, but the Earl of Sandwich website does accept online orders.
Surprise opening for Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby
We shared last week that friends-and-family previews were under way at Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby in Downtown Disney, but we were surprised to receive word Monday morning that the new restaurant had begun accepting reservations, and would open that very same evening.
The restaurant is currently open nightly from 4:30 to 10:00 p.m., and this time, reservations are available exclusively through Open Table. It didn’t take long for diners to snap up all of the available reservation spots for the first two months, but the restaurant has released additional availability over the weekend. At press time, reservations are open through September 16, with the majority of open tables available in the late evening.
Walk-ins may be taken based on availability, but we would not recommend that strategy if you truly want to dine here. We also understand that the restaurant will add lunch service at some point in the future, which will give fans many more opportunities to dine.
Refurbishment notes
The Matterhorn is closed for a brief refurbishment today through Thursday. The attraction reopens July 24.
The Main Street Cinema is now scheduled to be closed for refurbishment starting August 10. The attraction reopens August 28.
Oogie Boogie tracking
Another week with no change in our Oogie Boogie tracking, At publication time, and after more than a month of public sales, only the same six Oogie Boogie Bash event nights have sold out:

Disneyland last week released a video hinting at a new villain for the event. Between the beakers and the feathers, many fans are guessing Yzma will make her debut at Oogie Boogie Bash.

We also recommend checking the convention calendar at the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau website. When looking at that site, remember to note both the number of people and the number of rooms resulting from each convention. A gathering of 25,000 people booking few room nights (indicating most will be driving in to the area for their meeting) can impact traffic around the resort much more than a crowd of 25,000 staying in area hotels. Of course, that second group is going to make finding a hotel room more difficult (and possibly more expensive), so it’s best to book your own room as early as possible if you see that a big convention is in town during your trip.

This first section is a list of discounts on ticket-only purchases. Though it has become more common in recent years, Disneyland tickets are rarely offered at deep discounts unless you are a resident of Southern California or Northern Mexico. For residents outside that area, the best discounts available tend to be simple advance purchase discounts. If you know of any additional discounts, offers, promotions, or contests that should be listed in this section, drop us a line. Note, we are no longer listing offers from the Anaheim-Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau, as their convenience fee negates any savings.
Don’t get scammed! Never buy tickets from an unofficial or secondary outlet, such as through eBay or Craigslist. Never rent or purchase tickets from people approaching you outside the gates stating they have remaining days or leftover tickets. This practice is against the terms of use for Disneyland admission, and may result in denial of entry. It is also common for criminals to shoplift inactivated Disney theme park tickets from supermarkets to resell them. There is no way to determine if these tickets are valid until you try to use them to enter the parks. Kids’ Summer Ticket Offer
Children ages 3 to 9 visit can Disneyland and Disney California Adventure for as low as $50 per day between May 22 and September 7, 2026. Disney also has 2-day and 3-day version of this ticket, as well as the option to add Lightning Lane Multi Pass. Pricing is as follows:

Tickets are on sale now. You must make theme park reservation to use this ticket, and will be prompted to select your dates at the time of purchase. You can make reservations up to 240 days in advance. Fortunately, Disneyland has just released their full 2026 Event and Festival calendar so you can be ready to make reservations for the events you want to attend.
You can change your dates later, but Disney will set aside only a limited number of reservations for this ticket type each day and so you may not be able to get the dates you want later. As with the prior offer, the terms state, “reservation availability for Kids’ Special Offer Ticket holders is not guaranteed for any date, and reservations may be difficult to get for any particular date, especially as the ticket expiration date approaches.”
Anaheim Resident Ticket Offer
Anaheim residents can visit Disneyland during the final weeks of the “Celebrate Happy” promotion or the first weeks of Halloween Time for as little as $71 with an offer released in honor of Disneyland’s 71st anniversary.
The Anaheim Resident Ticket Offer is on sale now, and is valid for visits from July 20 through October 8, 2026. The one-day, one-park ticket offers admission to either Disneyland or Disney California Adventure for just $71 per person, ages 3 and older. You can upgrade this ticket to a one-day park-hopper ticket for $33 more, and also add Lightning Lane Multi Pass for an additional fee.
The catch is that you need to be a resident of the city of Anaheim to take advantage of this offer. Tickets may be purchased online starting July 16. Your payment method must have an Anaheim address in zip codes 92801 through 92809, 92812, 92814 through 92817, 92825, 92850 and 92899.
We also want to note that the terms and conditions state, “Sales may be paused or terminated at any time.” In 2024, Disney ended sales of the Anaheim resident ticket two weeks prior to the official end of the promotion, so we recommend purchasing the tickets as early as you can to avoid disappointment.
Eligible residents can purchase up to eight (8) tickets per person, per day, but each person who uses a ticket must show proof of residency in an eligible zip code. An Anaheim resident is not permitted to purchase tickets on behalf of others who are not Anaheim residents. This means everyone in your party (18 and older) should come prepared to show proof of residency in the eligible ZIP codes to use this promotional offer.
2026-2027 1-day Military Ticket offer
This new ticket offers eligible service members and their families Tier 0 pricing on one-day tickets any day of the year through the end of 2027. At current pricing, this offer represents a savings of to $120 off a Tier 6 day.
This ticket is different from the new 2026 offer, in that it is valid November 18, 2025 through December 31, 2027, subject to park reservation availability

The ticket is valid for admission January 8 through June 12, 2026. This ticket has a 13-day “fuse,” which means you must use the second admission date within 13 days of your first visit, (or on June 12, 2026, whichever occurs first). Theme park reservations are required for each admission.

2026 Military Hotel discounts
These multi-day Disneyland tickets may be used January 1 through December 31, 2026, with NO blockout dates for 2026.
Active and retired U.S. military personnel can purchase Disney Military Promotional Tickets for themselves and up to five additional family members or friends. No more than six Disney Military Promotional Tickets may be purchased by any eligible member of the U.S. military (or spouse) pursuant to this offer. All tickets and options are non-transferable and must be used by December 31, 2026.
This offer must be purchased at a participating US military base ticket office. Eligible US Military service members can also buy tickets via GOVX.com
The new hotel discount is valid for all of 2026, January 1 through December 31, 2026, and must be booked by December 27, 2026.
As has been the case for the past several years Disney did not publish the actual discounted rates, and instead directed eligible U.S. military personnel to call (866) 309-9737 to check pricing, availability and to make reservations. If you’re making travel plans for 2026, it’s worth calling the number above to see if there are any special military offers available during your stay.
The offer is available to eligible service members, (active or retired members of the US military, including the National Guard, Reservists, the US Coast Guard, the US Space Force, the Commissioned Corps of the Public Health Service (PHS) and the Commissioned Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) ), and their spouses with proper military ID.
Those who qualify can book up to two rooms under this offer, and eligible service member or spouse must stay in the room on the reservation.
